Citizens of the Republic of Korea aged 19 or older
3. Participation Procedures and Methods

Preliminary Round

Eligibility for the Finals is granted through online screening following online registration.

Application Method

  • Access the competition website through the competition announcement, browser search, or mobile APP
  • Click <Apply>_<Apply> (sign up and log in are mandatory)
  • Enter basic participant (artist) information and check the two contract agreement items
  • Proceed with <Artist Registration> + <Artwork Registration> and upload entry: JPG/PNG file format with a width of at least 2,000px (please avoid image-resolution disadvantages during judging)
  • Submission confirmation available for printing
  • Preliminary Round to Select Finalists
  • Each artist may submit up to 2 artworks (no category restrictions)
  • Judging is conducted online, and evaluation scores are reflected upon advancement to the finals.
  • No participation fee

Finals

Judging of works advancing to the finals, determination and announcement of final award grades, and the awards ceremony.

  • Works submitted to the finals must be deposited in the designated storage facility between November 9 and November 27, 2026.
  • All materials used for the final evaluation must adhere to the principle of public disclosure.
  • Compile evaluation data based on the final day of the finals and announce the award-winning works and their rankings.
  • After the awards ceremony, operate a permanent exhibition of the award-winning works and programs for the award-winning artists.

Size Restrictions and Conditions for Submitted Works

  • Size Restrictions - Paintings and two-dimensional works: Limited to 2.5㎡ or less (canvas size 60 or less) - Three-dimensional works : 150cm x 100cm x 100cm (H x W x D) or less
  • International standard notation for 3D size: Height x Width x Depth
  • Obligations of Participating Artists : Mandatory participation in the awards ceremony and related events
  • Method of Submitting Video Entries : Save the original (Full Data) in MP4 format to a USB drive and submit.
  • Materials for creative works must be made of materials capable of permanent preservation
  • If tools such as AI were used in the creation of the work, this must be disclosed mandatorily

6. Judging Criteria

Criteria for Fair Artwork Judging and Voting

  • Prohibition of monopoly by specific organizations or institutions
  • Determination of ranks: by the Judging Committee; final award grades: by the Awards Selection Committee
  • Implementation of measures to ensure fairness during online voting and real-time on-site voting

Self-Evaluation of Achievements and Experience (10%)

  • Self-Evaluation Guidelines- Evaluation based on the participant's own conscience and the principle of public disclosure (awards may be revoked later if false information is found)- Supporting documents for career history and other qualifications shall be submitted upon request.
  • Evaluation Items, Content, and Scoring- The Evaluation Items sheet is reviewed upon work registration, and the participant evaluates themselves- Evaluation Items: 10 items
  • Please truthfully fill out the self-evaluation items regarding achievements and experience when applying

General Public online (Web/App) Access and Voting (30%)

  • Guaranteeing participation opportunities for everyone interested, regardless of nationality
  • Applying appropriate compensation to voters and those being evaluated (artists)
  • Scoring Criteria: Applying a percentage conversion method based on the highest score- A method in which the work with the highest number of votes in each category is assigned a maximum score of 100, and the remaining works are evaluated relatively in proportion to this.

On-site Participant (Viewer) Voting (20%)

  • On-site participants (viewers) vote using the QR code assigned to the work.- Applicants sign up for the app and rate entries, with appropriate rewards applied to participants.
  • Policy applied where both evaluators and evaluated artists receive rewards.
  • Scoring criteria: Percentage conversion based on the highest score applied.- A method in which the work with the highest number of votes in each category is assigned a maximum score of 100, and the remaining works are evaluated relatively in proportion to this.

Artist Support

Invitation of award-winning artists to official KoAC events and support for artists through policy cooperation.

Additional Privileges

Eligibility for a shared management contract between KoAC and award-winning artists.

Support for participation costs and eligibility for various international competitions.

Hosting of exhibitions and events for award-winning artists.

Attracting art collectors and institutions, and providing marketing to enhance the value of the works.

National committees are required to invite medalists to official events.

Reward coins paid based on accumulated <voting + jury's evaluation + support> points as of the competition end date.

8. Competition Participation Requirements

Dedication Agreement for Award-Winning Works

Award-winning works of the Korea Artpiad Competition shall be dedicated to the “Artpiad Hall of Fame.”

IP Transfer Agreement for Award-Winning Works

The IP (Intellectual Property Rights) regarding award-winning works of the Korea Artpiad Competition shall be owned by KoAC.

Permission to Use Non-Winning Works

Even if a submitted work is not selected as an award-winning work, the competition participant must permit the use of the work within the necessary scope, such as for the progress of competition judging, announcement of results, and preservation of competition records (archiving). (Refer to the attached agreement.)
